Orleton 19/10/2008
The boys lost 8 -1 today against Orleton, they all played their
hearts out. They did everything they were asked to do. Had four
to five shots at goals, but only one went in. Overall pleased
with the goal we did score. It was also their best performance
working as a team to date! In my eyes they all deserved man of
the match, although the referee declared Gift Musaka as man of
the match.

I was very pleased with the way we
played today against a side who won the league last year. They
all worked really hard and made some great tackles. They really
enjoyed it and did themselves proud. Our new goalie Callum Rudd
made some fantastic saves.
Well done everybody

Onny + Eagles 08/11/2008
We
lost 9-1 away at craven arms this morning. The team played very
well, creating a number of chances which just missed going in.
They were very committed and played to the best of their ability
throughout the game. Matthew Tilson scored for onny. Adam
Mumford, who had to go in goal at the last minute, was voted our
man of the match by the referee, for some excellent saves.

V Craven Arms 16/11/2008 (League Cup)
We
lost this morning at home to Craven Arms 9-1 in the cup. The
team played well throughout, but were caught out by a lapse in
concentration now and then. Also Ben Davies was outstanding for
Craven Arms and scored most of their goals. Matthew Tilson
scored for Onny and also hit the post and had other near misses.
Gift Musaka and Rhys Williams also went close to scoring. Callum
Rudd had an excellent game in goals and was named Onny man of
the match by the referee Phil Parker. Every other player put in
lots of effort and should be very pleased with themselves.

V Onny + Tigers 22/11/08
Today Onny Eagles played Onny Tigers u9,s. The result was a 1-1
draw.
As
you can imagine David and myself are delighted with the result
as it is Onny Eagles first point in the league this season. The
Eagles were 100 per cent committed from start to finish and all
the boys can be proud of themselves. Special mention to Adam
Mumford who had a great game in goals, John Wynne in defence and
Gift Musaka in midfield. Harry Howells-Shearing opened the
scoring for the Tigers. Tigers had chances to increase their
lead but bad luck and good goalkeeping prevented it. Gift Musaka
equalised in the second half for the Eagles. Both teams had
chances to win the game but a draw was a fair result. Referee
Ron Leech said that both teams were a credit to themselves and
that he really enjoyed refereeing them.

Coreley 29/11/08
In
icily cold conditions Eagles couldn't get going and didn't quite
match the standards set last week. However Eagles scored first
through Matthew Tilson with a well taken goal. Both sides hit
the post before Coreley equalised before half time. Coreley then
took the lead ten minutes into the second half. Eagles then
pushed for an equaliser but solid defending from Coreley saw
them through to win the game. Matthew Tilson had a very good
game up front. Joe Swift had an excellent debut and John Wynne
impressed again, but Ryan Davies was man of the match for a
great display in defence.

Presteigne 18/01/09
This morning we played Presteigne in the
league at the Burway. Presteigne won 4 - 0. All the goals were
scored in the first half. After a long break for Christmas and
bad weather the team were a little rusty but as time went on
they improved a lot. Everybody gave 100 % but referee John
Woodfield awarded man of the match to Gift Musaka. Special
mention to Callum Rudd who made an exceptional save just before
the end, but unfortunately for him he forgot he was playing at
centre back and not in his usual position of goalie. No harm was
done though as the penalty was missed.

An
even first half with both teams having a couple of chances at
goal. Tenbury edged in front just before the break and scored
another two minutes after the restart. Onny were awarded a
penalty when a Tenbury defender handled in the area. Matthew
Tilson converted to make it 1 - 2. Then in injury time Gift
Musaka cut in from the right wing and scored from a tight angle
to level the match. Very pleased with all the players who kept
going to the final whistle and deserved their draw.

Today Onny Eagles played Tenbury at home in the cup. Tenbury won
3-2 after extra time. Playing with the wind Eagles opened the
scoring ten minutes into the game. Matthew Tilson raced onto a
great through ball from John Williams and placed the ball past
the keeper into the bottom corner. Then a few minutes later Gift
Musaka shot from distance to make it 2-0. Callum Rudd in goal
made some great saves to keep it 2-0 at half time. In the second
half Tenbury came back strongly with the wind in their favour
and scored twice to level the scores at full time. Then in extra
time they scored again to win 3-2. All the players deserve great
credit for giving their all in freezing conditions.

Eagles V Stretton Red Rovers 22/03/2009
This afternoon Onny Eagles u9's played Stretton Red Rovers in
the league at the Burway. Stretton won 4 - 3. Stretton had the
better of the first half scoring two goals without reply. A more
determined attitude saw Eagles pull one straight back after
the restart through Gift Musaka. Then from a Matthew Tilson
corner John Williams flicked a shot into the corner to make it
2-2. Stretton came back strongly and scored twice in five
minutes. Matthew Tilson then fired into the bottom corner to
make it 3 goals to Onny and ensure an exciting last five
minutes. Unfortunately Eagles couldn't force the equaliser they
deserved. Ryan Davies and John Wynne had fine games in defence,
Adam Mumford had a great game in midfield, but John Williams was
voted man of the match for his all action display. Everybody
else performed really well and David and myself were very happy
coaches after the game.

Coreley 29/03/09
Today Onny Eagles u9's played at home against Coreley in the
league. Eagles won 4-2.
Coreley got off to a fast start and opened the scoring after a
couple of minutes. Eagles came back and pulled level through
John Williams. A few minutes later Rhys Williams scored his
first goal of the season to put Eagles in front. But just before
half time Coreley reacted quicker in the box to make it 2-2 .
Chances were created by both sides, but it was Eagles who took
the lead when Gift Musaka fired home. Two minutes from time
Eagles sealed victory when Matthew Good found Matthew Tilson in
space who scored in the bottom corner. There were a number of
good performances for Eagles but Ryan Davies was voted man of
the match. Myself and David are really chuffed that the boys
have got there first win. They really deserve it for there great
attitude and enthusiasm through out the season. Well done boys.

This evening Onny Eagles u9's played Cleobury in the league.
Cleobury won 3-1.Top of the table Cleobury started brightly
playing some good passing football and had a few sighters at
goal. Eagles played a defensive game containing Cleoburys
attacks and hit them on the break when they could. After a few
near misses for Cleobury, Eagles countered and Gift Musaka
lobbed the Cleobury keeper brilliantly from the edge of the area
to open the scoring. Cleobury came back well and Liam Williams
fired into the top corner to make it 1-1 at half time. Eagles
continued to defend for their lives in the second half and
attacked on the break. Liam Williams netted twice more though to
